Gary Shakespeare Company is a 501c3 Not-for-profit organization established in 2013. We are dedicated to bringing actors and audiences of all ages, ethnicities, and backgrounds together in the enjoyment of the works of William Shakespeare and in the shared experience of live performance.

We currently rehearse in residence at St. Barnabas of the Dunes in Gary, Indiana.

Gary Shakespeare joins Calumet College of St. Joseph in the Summer with Shakespeare Youth Workshop to help bring Shakespeare to students!

The productions of A Midsummer Night’s Dream (2020), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (2021), Julius Caesar (2022), and The Tempest (2023) were partially funded by generous grants from the Indiana Arts Commission.

In May of 2023, funding for the Gary Shakespeare Madrigal group was generously provided by a grant from Legacy Foundation's Transform Lake County Fund in an effort to positively transform Lake County.

In July 2016, GSC was awarded a grant from the Legacy Foundation, Lake County’s community foundation of an effort to make our productions more widely available.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream (2021) was choreographed by Asia’s Dance Factory of Gary, Indiana.
